Last night’s “Epi Party”(January 16, 2009) was a huge success.
The elegant evening, featuring Le Club’s “Epitini,” and drinks from Pearl Vodka, was held to raise awareness of the Bay Area Allergy Advisory Board (BAAAB) and its goals.
It is thanks to early supporters of the BAAAB that this upcoming event is possible. We’d especially like to thank our “Silver Trowel Committee” for their continued commitment to healthy living:

Welcome to Bay Area Allergy Advisory Board, founded in 2007 in San Francisco by a parent who has spent years advocating for the safety of children dealing with severe food allergies.
Do you realize that an estimated six to eight percent of children under the age of three suffer from food allergies, and that nearly four percent of all adults have them? In the Bay Area alone, that would amount to over 250,000 people!
Yet our local schools, restaurants, grocery stores, retail shops and other public places are sometimes ill-equipped to help someone who has been inadvertently exposed to a food allergen. This can have life-threatening consequences!
We hope you find our information useful; as always there are exciting announcements and resources coming soon. So check back often and always feel free to contact us with questions, comments, and feedback.

In A Nut-Free Halloween? Not So Tricky,” BAAAB Executive Director Mireille Schwartz was featured in the San Francisco Chronicle, for providing a list for consumers of allergy-safe treats for Halloween. San Francisco Chronicle, October 28, 2008.
